meaningful friendships

Two of our Dexter High School leaders took five incoming freshmen to Timber Wolf Lake for WyldLife camp to kickstart relationships with students they will walk with for the next four years and beyond. We asked Morgan to share a bit about her time leading at camp, check out what she had to say:

"Cabin time started a little rough for us because the girls don’t seem to like deep conversation like that, but by the end of the week they were asking more questions and seemed less distracted. It was super sweet to tackle their questions together and help guide them in their thinking.

The camp speaker had a door on stage that represented the choice we have in giving our lives to Jesus. At the last Club he had all of the kids walk through the door who had made that decision. It was the coolest thing to watch all of them walk through the door and stand on stage.

It was also very sweet to be able to lead alongside Teddy and build our friendship while also seeing how he’s growing in relationship with the boys. There was this sweet moment where I walked by him and Jay praying during their one-on-one. It was cool to see Jay come out of his shell. I talked to him the first night and he was super quiet, but by the end of the week I could tell he was more comfortable and so was the rest of the group. I think even having a smaller group is very special because we can have meaningful friendships with the kids and all spend lots of time together."
